A little bit about Julie Deeks

Covid-19 lockdown: I am now offering appointments over Zoom. If you would like some information on supporting your immune system or recovery from the virus please get in touch. I am working with individuals who are in the high risk group to help them to protect themselves using changes to their diet and food supplementation, a natural approach.. Areas of support currently offered:. Weight and how to manage comfort eating - understanding our physiology and our needs. Creating structure around eating and planning - coaching. Immunity for all going forwards looking ahead and beyond lockdown measure. Managing hormones naturally. I am still working with diagnosed auto-immune conditions, thyroid symptoms, hot flushes due to hormonal changes, poor digestion or tummy problems, fatigue, weight concerns.. Julies' approach is holistic and evidence based. She works with you to establish the root courses of your symptoms and ailments and uses food as medicine working on improving mineral status, digestion and vitamin uptake along with specific areas identified during the consultation.. Julie is dedicated to providing you with the right information to help you achieve your goals, she uses her expert knowledge, experience and coaching skills to motivate you to make the change needed for your success. (Your zinc status and stomach acid will be assessed during your appointment using some simple in clinic tests, along with a full body composition analysis using bio-impedence scales - not currently available) You goals will be clear when you leave, allowing you both to measure the improvements from your new plan.. Functional lab tests may be discussed, depending on your symptoms. Functional tests are similar to the tests your GP might carry out, such as blood tests, urine tests or stool tests. However, we do not look for pathology or disease, we look for imbalances and deficiencies or intolerance. The benefits are ten fold, and may help direct your programme and therefore results can be much faster. (Some functional tests are available during Covid-19 lockdown - stool testing is currently not available). What do you receive?. Following your consultation with Julie you receive a brief summary of what was discussed, including dietary adjustments and food ideas and a supplement programme. All of Julie's clients receive 15% discount on the supplements she may recommend.. Julie is a member of BANT, the professional body for Nutritional Therapists and she is registered with CNHC, the Government's regulatory body for Nutritional Therapists and complimentary therapists.. Julie is keen to stay fit and healthy, believes that food is truly our best medicine. She loves to cook and create delicious meals and desserts. All food is good, it depends on how much, how often and how quickly you eat it. Lifestyle changes and beliefs about food will also be discussed along with goal setting and mapping out a plan of action going forward.
