A little bit about Jane Pugh

I work as a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner supporting clients who are experiencing a wide range of health issues to achieve improved health and well-being.. Using an evidence-based scientific approach to nutrition I work with my clients to identify the factors promoting their health issues to understand which of their body systems are out of balance. A personalised nutrition programme is then developed aimed at optimising their health and well being.. EVERYONE HAS A HEALTH STORY. …and we are tuned into the individual habits of our own bodies. Some of us have niggling symptoms, whilst others may be suffering with long-term ill health.. What are your symptoms telling us about the health of your underlying systems?. Nutritional Therapy offers you the time that you require to talk through all aspects of your health and to learn how different symptoms are interconnected. It is not uncommon for people to feel puzzled or even overwhelmed by health imbalances and Nutritional Therapy provides a personalised framework to find a workable route towards improved health.. The Functional Medicine Model sits at the heart of the Nutritional Therapy process. This maps the key physiological systems within the body (e.g. digestion, detoxification, immune defence, hormonal communication, cardiovascular and nervous systems) helping me to map which of your body systems are out of balance and where to focus dietary and life-style interventions specifically for you. Nutritional Therapy works by identifying and addressing the causes of imbalance rather than suppressing the symptoms.. I give practical, hands-on advice to help you understand how to help restore and maintain your health. I focus on optimising health with food and lifestyle. I take time to explain the the science behind my recommendations. I believe that if a person understands why their body reacts in a certain way, that they are better empowered in their health.. *******************************************************************************************. Healthy Digestion. Despite its complexity, the human body has a simple mandate. We are designed to take in food, break this down, absorb the nutrients for energy, growth and repair, and eliminate the waste products. If any part of this process is not working effectively, the health of other parts of the body may be compromised.. Imbalanced digestion can cause ongoing symptoms which can be distressing and impact your day-to-day life.. I work with my clients to support them in optimising their digestion.. Immune Health. Sub-optimal immune health often goes hand-in-hand with other health imbalances and may be indicated by frequent infections and feeling "run down". Optimising nutrition, digestion, gut health, identifying food intolerance's and promoting relaxation and sleep are all important factors to consider when aiming to promote immune health.. I support my clients to understand how to modify diet and lifestyle to promote their immune health and resilience.. Hormonal Health. The endocrine system includes a system of glands that produce hormones: thyroid, parathyroid, adrenals, pancreas, pituitary, pineal, hypothalamus, thymus, ovaries and testes. Hormones work in harmony to regulate a myriad of functions within the body. Imbalances in one endocrine organ can impact the overall balance of the hormonal system.. I work with my clients to help them understand and address their hormonal imbalance.
